About my classroom: In my classroom I am really excited about the reading program. Every 4-6 weeks there is a new theme that we focus on. This allows is to use a wide variety of instructional activities. All of our reading, writing, and comprehension strategies center on this one theme. Because the students are excited about the theme, they are more engaged in the learning process. There many extension activities for Art, Science, and Bible which enriches the students learning. |

Interests/hobbies/etc: One interest that I have is helping students to sense a need to develop their own relationship with Jesus. Sometimes, when you grow up “Adventist,” you think you’re OK just because you’re “Adventist.” We need to help our students understand that Jesus is real and that as we “Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, all these things will be added...”’ Another interest that I have is developing an awareness of the great need for church musicians. One of the ways we can develop church musicians is by providing music in our schools. We need music so the students can become worship leaders in their own churches. We need music so that our worship services will honor God. My hobbies include playing the piano, worship music, handbells, evangelism, cooking, Bible study, scrap booking, and traveling. |

Other items of interest: I am looking forward to developing the handbell choir as well as the recorder ensemble for next year. |
